Privacy Policy

Overview

Qew ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. Qew is a purely local application—all data stays on your devices and we have no servers that collect or store your information. This Privacy Policy explains our privacy-first approach.

Information We Don't Collect

Qew is built with a privacy-first architecture. We do not collect:

• Your code or instructions: All messages between your mobile device and development machine are end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read them.
• Personal information: We don't require accounts, email addresses, names, or any identifying information.
• Usage analytics: We don't track how you use the app, what features you use, or how often you use them.
• Device identifiers: We don't collect device IDs, advertising identifiers, or hardware information.

End-to-End Encryption

All communication between your mobile device and your development machine is encrypted using NaCl (Networking and Cryptography Library) public-key encryption. Encryption keys are generated on your devices and never leave them.

No Servers, No Data Collection

Qew operates entirely on your local devices:

• We do not operate servers that collect or store your data
• All communication happens directly between your devices
• No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry
• We have no ability to access your data even if we wanted to

Local Operation

All communication happens directly between your devices. Qew works on your local network by default, and all data remains entirely on your devices. No data ever passes through external servers.

QR Code Pairing

The QR code contains only the information needed to establish a secure connection:

• A temporary session identifier
• The public encryption key
• Connection endpoint information

This information is not stored or transmitted to us.

Third-Party Services

The mobile app may use the following platform services:

• Camera (for QR scanning): Used only to scan pairing QR codes. No images are stored or transmitted.
• Microphone (for voice input): Speech recognition is processed on-device when available. No audio is sent to our servers.

AI Agents

Qew connects to AI coding agents (such as Claude Code, OpenAI, Gemini, etc.) that you install and run locally on your own machine. We want to be clear:

• AI agents are not provided, installed, or operated by Qew
• Qew is not affiliated with or endorsed by any AI agent providers
• Data you send to AI agents is governed by those providers' privacy policies
• We have no visibility into or control over what AI agents do with your data
• Any privacy concerns about AI agents should be directed to the respective providers

Data Retention

We don't collect any data, so there is nothing to retain. All session data exists only on your local devices and is controlled entirely by you.

Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to Access: Request information about data we hold about you
• Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
• Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to Data Portability: Request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Right to Opt-Out: Opt out of data collection or processing

However, since Qew does not collect, store, or process personal data, these rights are satisfied by design. There is no data to access, delete, correct, or port. If you have questions about exercising these rights, contact us at qew@swishfoundry.com.

Children's Privacy

Qew is a developer tool not directed at children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
